Hapoel Tel Aviv built their squad this season with one clear goal – winning the EuroCup and securing a spot in next season’s EuroLeague.
To make that happen, they brought in NBA-experienced players like Jonathan Motley, Bruno Caboclo, Ishmail Wainright, and Antonio Blakeney, along with well-known European names such as Yam Madar, Marcus Foster, and Joe Ragland.
Early in the season, when the opportunity arose, they also signed one of Europe’s top coaches, Dimitris Itoudis, making their ambitions even clearer.
By finishing second in their group, Hapoel earned a direct spot in the second round of the knockout stage. Like most teams, they’ve had their ups and downs, but in the final rounds of the group stage, their form noticeably improved.
Itoudis and his team have a tough road ahead, but with the talent and experience in this squad, they have everything it takes to go all the way.

Unlike their struggles in the domestic league, Turk Telekom had a strong showing in the first phase of the EuroCup.
With a 10-8 record, they finished third in their group, just behind Valencia and Hapoel Tel Aviv. However, the draw wasn’t too kind to them, placing them in the same bracket as Hapoel Tel Aviv and Valencia–arguably the two biggest favorites for the title.
Before this matchup, they had to overcome Buducnost, which they did convincingly with a 93-73 victory. In that game, Turk Telekom delivered perhaps their most mature performance of the season, fully deserving the win against a solid Buducnost side.
The key contributors were Anthony Brown, who led the team with 20 points, and Kyle Alexander, who added 16 while shooting a perfect 8/8 from the field.
