FlyQuest enter this match as underdogs, but they are in good form, and the Australian squad have previously shown that they can hold their own against international opposition. So, while FlyQuest are not expected to do well, Complexity are vulnerable enough to drop a map.

Ranked no.14 in the world, Complexity made it to the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 by finishing the American RMR in third-fifth place with wins against M80, BOSS, and BESTIA.

It is not the most exciting run and hardly a good indication of where Complexity stand. And since COL have just seven games since the start of October, it is difficult to say how ready Complexity are to make it through the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 opening stage.

While the North American side performed well at ESL Pro League Season 20, it's been two months since, and they have not faced any particularly strong teams over the last two months.

FlyQuest Form

FlyQuest enter Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 in great form. They won ESL Challenger DreamHack Atlanta in October and have since added a 5-1 run through the ESL Challenger League Season 48: Oceania and Asia-Pacific RMR.

In the RMR, FlyQuest lost to TALON but picked up convincing wins against GR Gaming, DRILLAS, and Lynn Vision Gaming. While the Australian side, like Complexity, did not have to face any good teams of late, in the games they did win, FlyQuest looked great.

Much of FlyQuest's success is thanks to Joshua "INS" Potter, who is their best player and someone Complexity will have to stop on Saturday.

Verdict

Complexity v FlyQuest

Complexity and FlyQuest have faced teams of similar quality of late and they've managed fairly similar results. So form-wise, you can't set them apart – and you could even argue that FlyQuest have looked slightly better.

Both teams also rely heavily on their best players, namely INS for FlyQuest and EliGE on Complexity, so the end result of this match will likely come down to how the two players perform.
This is mainly why this match looks closer to a coin flip than what the betting odds suggest, so I'll gladly take FlyQuest's side.
