DarkZero Esports announced the signing of Zachary "SpiriTz" Dionne, who joined the North American Rainbow Six Siege roster on Tuesday, replacing the recently departed Elian "Kobelax" Rodriguez.

SpiriTz is the first new signing DarkZero have announced this year, just four days after the departure of Kobelax, who left the team after a seven-month stint during which DarkZero have not found much consistency.

The 23-year-old Canadian started his esports career in 2020 with Squiries and has since played for some of the biggest names in the North American R6S esports scene.

He was a part of Parabellum Esports, XSET, M80, Wildcard Gaming, and beastcoast (later Cloud9 beastcoast), whom SpiriTz parted ways with in December 2024 after Cloud9 shut down their Rainbow Six Siege division.

After he departed from Cloud9 beastcoast, SpiriTz and two of his teammates, Gaven "Gaveni" Black and Matthew "Hotancold" Stevens, formed a stack Unwanted and together attended Six Invitational 2025, where SpiriTz and co. placed fourth.

Their success did not go unnoticed, earning SpiriTz a spot in one of the most prominent esports teams in the region.

The roster change comes following a very turbulent run through the 2024 season for DarkZero Esports.

The North American outfit started the year with a fifth- sixth-place finish at Six Invitational 2025 and, shortly after, added a bronze medal from North America League 2024 - Stage 1 and a semifinal run at BLAST R6 Major Manchester 2024.

After qualifying for the Esports World Cup 2024, where DarkZero placed fifth-eighth, DarkZero lost momentum and ended the year with a 12th-14th-place finish at BLAST R6 Major Montreal 2024.

Things did not improve in February, with an early elimination from Six Invitational 2025 (ninth-12th), marking one of the worst showings at Six Invitational in the organisation's history.

With the arrival of SpiriTz, DarkZero have bolstered their roster with the BLAST R6 Major Manchester champion, but he will not have a chance to debut for his new quad until May when the 2025 season starts with RE:L0:AD 2025 in Rio de Janiero.
