On Thursday, Complexity announced the departure of Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski, who leaves the North American squad after a 1.5-year-long stay. The 27-year-old's departure was already rumoured as he is said to sign for FaZe Clan for the 2025 season.

EliGE joined Complexity in June 2023, following his departure from Team Liquid, with who the veteran player spent over eight years. At the time, Complexity were amid a major roster rebuild after struggling to find much success in the first half of 2023.

However, even with EliGE joining the lineup, success was hard to come by for the North American outfit, who did not win much by the end of 2023. Even last season was relatively disappointing for EliGE and his crew.

Over the entire season, Complexity have managed just one tournament trophy and a couple of notable tournament runs.

Those include a title from ESL Challenger at DreamHack Summer 2024 in June and a semifinal run at ESL Pro League Season 19 in May.

Since winning their sole trophy of 2024, Complexity have attended seven events but never placed higher than fifth-eighth.

At the tail end of 2024, Complexity placed top-five at Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024: American RMR, securing a ticket for the Shanghai Major. There, however, they crashed out in 17th-19th place with wins against Cloud9 and Imperial and three losses against FlyQuest, Passion UA, and BIG.

Despite the team's struggles, EliGE managed to excel individually throughout 2024.

He won an EVP award at the ESL Pro League Season 19 and secured 19th place on the Top 20 Players of 2024 list. While his team struggled, EliGE ended his stay with Complexity with an impressive 1.20 performance rating average over 227 maps played.

With EliGE's departure, Complexity are down to just three active players, having previously parted ways with Ricky "floppy" Kemery.

Complexity have yet to reveal who will fill in the gaps, but according to recent reports, Nick "nicx" Lee and Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk are on the team's radar as two potential signings.

Meanwhile, EliGE is reportedly close to signing with FaZe Clan as a replacement for Robin "ropz" Kool.
