On Friday, FaZe Clan announced the arrival of Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski after completing the transfer from Complexity. The North American star signs for FaZe as a replacement for Robin “ropz” Kool, who recently left the team amid reports of him joining Team Vitality.

In one of many blockbuster signings of this Counter-Strike offseason, FaZe Clan acquired the services of EliGE, who joins FaZe after an 18-month tenure on Complexity.

During his stay with Complexity, EliGE has not found much success, as the team lifted only one trophy over the 18 months – at ESL Challenger Jönköping. Besides that minor success, Complexity struggled to make much noise in the competitive scene, especially in more notable events.

Despite Complexity’s lacklustre results, EliGE managed to shine, averaging a 1.20 performance rating and 1.19 on LAN, proving he is an elite player, worthy of a spot at one of the top teams in the world.

For his contributions, EliGE was also recognised as the 19th-best Counter-Strike player of 2024, marking the sixth time in his career that he broke into the top 20 players of the year.

EliGE’s arrival at FaZe Clan comes shortly after the departure of ropz, who, like the ex-Complexity star, proved to be a star player. However, despite ropz’s status as one of the best the world, FaZe struggled with consistency throughout 2024.

Since the turn of the year, FaZe Clan have made some noise. They won BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024, Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024, and BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2024, and placed second in both Majors – PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 and Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024.

However, between the notable results, FaZe Clan often found themselves slipping in the latter stages of S-Tier tournaments, finishing nine events in fifth or lower place.

To find more stability, FaZe opted for a drastic change, bringing in a veteran who has proven to be one of the most consistent players in the scene, posting impressive performances despite playing on a team which struggled with their results.

EliGE will debut for FaZe Clan at BLAST Bounty Season 1, which will kick off on January 14. The tournament will, feature 32 teams who will battle for the lion’s share of the $500,000 pool.
