HEROIC Announce New Counter-Strike 2 Roster

Following weeks of rumours and speculation, HEROIC confirmed their new Counter-Strike roster, which features Álvaro "SunPayus" García and Andrey "tN1R" Tatarinovich and the ex-Sangal Esports core.
SunPayus and tN1r will team up with Linus "LNZ" Holtäng, Simon "yxngstxr" Boije and Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç, forming a fresh lineup which will fight under HEROIC's banner at the upcoming BLAST Bounty Spring 2025.
Even though HEROIC's new lineup looks similar to the rumoured lineup, there has been one change, with Linus "nilo" Bergman not making the starting lineup. He and Pavle "Maden" Bošković were instead named substitutes for HEROIC's BLAST Bounty campaign.
HEROIC will debut their new roster at the BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 tournament, for which they got invited thanks to the signing of Sangal Esports' core. This move also guarantees HEROIC a spot in ESL Pro League Season 21.
Sangal Esports made a name for themselves as one of the top Tier-2 teams of 2024, having won several CCT tournaments and thus climbed up the Valve rankings.
Joining the ex-Sangal core is SunPayus, who will reunite with coach Eetu "sAw" Saha, with who the Spaniard played at ENCE.
With ENCE, SunPayus won Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2023 and secured several top-four placements in some of the biggest Counter-Strike tournaments of the year. Since leaving ENCE, SunPayus has not accomplished as much, enduring a strenuous tenure with Team Falcons, who benched the AWPer in September 2024.
Finalising the new roster is tN1R, who spent the last seven months playing for GUN5 Esports. Despite spending most of 2024 competing in lower-division tournaments, the 23-year-old rifler has proven his worth, averaging an impressive 1.20 rating.
The new lineup, which now consists of seven players, raises some questions, as it is unclear what HEROIC's plans are for their team and whether nilo and Maden will eventually be included in the main lineup.
More information about HEROIC's plans for their Counter-Strike division should be revealed following their BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 campaign, which will begin on January 14, 2025.
