After making it past their round one opponents, OG and Passion UA will clash in the upper bracket semifinal of PGL Bucharest 2025: European Qualifier, where they’ll battle it out for a spot in the upper bracket final.

This will mark the first meeting between the two CS2 teams of the season as they look to take one step closer to the playoffs and a shot at claiming the ticket for the PGL Bucharest 2025 LAN event. But while both squads have done well in the first round, it is easy to see why OG are favoured to win.

The international squad are in solid form, having now won 12 of their last 14 games, which includes a solid performance against ENCE in the opening round. Passion UA have not shown as much lately, with two wins from the last five and they struggled a bit too much in round one.

While OG are not one of the main tournament favourites, they have been playing better than Passion UA and should feel confident about their chances to win this weekend.

OG kicked off their PGL Bucharest 2025: European Qualifier campaign with an impressive reverse sweep against ENCE who they beat with 19-17 on Ancient and 16-14 on Anubis.

OG needed a few overtimes to walk away victorious, so they were not particularly dominant in the opening round; however, they deserve praise for pulling out ahead despite dropping Mirage 7-13.

Recent addition, nicoodoz was the star player of the series and the key factor in OG’s success. He averaged a 1.63 performance rating on Ancient and 1.10 on Anubis, ending the series with an average rating of 1.24, slightly ahead of F1KU (1.23).

Passion UA Form

Passion UA entered PGL Bucharest 2025: European Qualifier with one win from their last four outings. Over that stretch, they beat Apogee (2-0) but were not as successful against ENCE (0-2), GUN5 Esports (1-2), and HEROIC (0-2).

Even before that, Passion UA have not shown much, with an early exit from CCT Season 2 European Series #16 and just two notable wins since the start of the year – against BetBoom Team.

Passion UA’s map pool is not that great, either. They do well on Mirage and Ancient but are not too active on any other map, which could be a problem against OG, who not only have a better win rate on five of seven maps but are also very efficient on Mirage and Ancient.

Verdict

OG v Passion UA

Passion UA enter this match as underdogs, and that is fair. While they did beat BC.Game in the first round and have previously defeated BetBoom Team, Passion UA have not looked that great lately.

Besides their shaky form, Passion UA also have a worse map win rate on Dust 2, Inferno, Nuke, Anubis, and one of their best maps, Ancient. Even though OG are not the most consistent team and are definitely capable of losing to anyone, they have looked much better with nicoodoz, and there is no reason to believe they can’t win on Saturday.
