SK Gaming vs Team BDS Predictions

SK Gaming and Team BDS will face off on Saturday, February 1, in the final week of the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) Winter 2025. It will mark their first clash of the season and unlike what the latest betting odds suggest, it could turn into a competitive game.

Both teams have not managed to impress me over the first two weeks. SK Gaming are 0-6 but are at least keeping their losses relatively close. Team BDS, on the other side, won two games, but against struggling G2 Esports and Rogue who are not playing well; so realistically, BDS have not shown much.

The harsh truth is that both teams have looked very rough around the edges this split, and despite what their current records might suggest, there is not a lot to separate them. I do not see a good reason to have Team BDS priced as such massive favourites.

  • SK Gaming are 0-6
  • Despite winning two games, Team BDS have not looked good
  • SK Gaming at outsider odds are an obvious bet

Head to Head

SK Gaming and Team BDS have yet to meet this season.

SK Gaming Form

SK Gaming are still winless after six games played; however, they came close to beating Team Vitality on Sunday when SK threw away a 3k gold lead at 15 minutes. Not the best look.

However, while SK Gaming are 0-6, they have not been getting dominated in their losses, so there are some positives to take away form their losses – even though SK Gaming are still a bottom-tier team.

SK Gaming Squad & Team News

SK Gaming have not announced any roster changes.

  • Janik "JNX" Bartels – top lane
  • Ismaïl "Isma" Boualem – jungle
  • Steven "Reeker" Chen – mid lane
  • Cho "Rahel" Min-seong – ADC
  • Kim "Loopy" Dong-hyeon – support

Team BDS Form

Like SK Gaming, Team BDS have not been great this season. They won against G2 Esports and Rogue, but even that means very little as G2 were in terrible shape early into LEC Winter 2025 and Rogue… well, they are not performing well either.

In their wins, BDS showed some good things, but they have looked more mediocre than anything else. This is mainly due to the lack of star players on this roster. They will still likely do fine by the end of the season, but they're not looking very sharp now.

Team BDS Squad & Team News

No new changes for Team BDS.

  • Joel "Irrelevant" Scharoll – top lane
  • Doğukan "113" Balcı – jungle
  • Ilias "nuc" Bizriken – mid lane
  • Yoon "Ice" Sang-hoon – ADC
  • Polat "Parus" Çiçek – support

Verdict

Based on what Team BDS and SK Gaming have shown this split, it is hard to make a good case for either team for this match. So it is hard to explain why Team BDS are 1.35 favourites. Do they deserve to hold that number? No.

Betting on SK Gaming feels wrong as they have been struggling a lot this split. But the same can be said for Team BDS, making SK Gaming at 3.10 a very obvious underdog pick.
