FlyQuest have far exceeded expectations with their performances yesterday, playing some excellent Counter-Strike, but their true test comes on Sunday when the Aussies face off against Team Liquid in the deciding match.

While Liquid are billed as the superior team, their recent performances do not inspire much confidence and do not make them a very appealing bet at the offered betting odds. This is Liquid's game to lose, but expect resistance from FlyQuest.

Team Liquid made it to Round 3 high matches by beating Cloud9 and Wildcard, yet they did not look great in either of the two games.

Liquid barely made it past C9 (13-10) and were just as unconvincing against Wildcard (13-10), which is not a very good sign – even though TL are set to face off against another squad who are not expected to make it very far.

While a stacked roster, Liquid are a paper tiger-like squad and not a team you would trust to deliver when challenged.

FlyQuest Form

FlyQuest have exceeded expectations so far at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, with wins against Complexity and BIG.

The Australian squad looked great in both games, beating Complexity (13-6) and further improving upon that with a 13-5 victory against BIG, largely thanks to Christopher "dexter" Nong, who averaged a 1.70 performance rating.

Joshua "INS" Potter is still FlyQuest's main player, but if we see more from dexter on Sunday, FlyQuest's duo will be very hard to stop, even for Liquid's stacked lineup.

Verdict

Team Liquid v FlyQuest

FlyQuest look weaker on paper, but they've looked significantly better in their last two outings and are in excellent shape. It remains to be seen for how long FlyQuest can play as well as they have, but if they can keep their wheels spinning, FlyQuest can do serious damage on Sunday.

This is still Liquid's game to lose, as their ceiling is much higher than FlyQuest's. But they look far too vulnerable to be a solid bet at 1.32.

FlyQuest to take at least one map at 1.65 is an obvious choice.
