The rematch is expected to be more one-sided, as the top crypto betting sites have Ultra priced at 1.38, suggesting that the Surge will struggle to keep their spot in the upper bracket.
However, Vancouver Surge have shown some good things in the final week of the qualifiers and if they can keep playing that way, they might get something from this fixture.
- Toronto Ultra have looked a bit iffy lately
- Vancouver Surge have found momentum
- It is Ultra's game to lose, but it won't be easy
Head to Head
Toronto Ultra and Vancouver Surge last met on December 8, during CDL 2025 Stage 1 Major Qualifiers, when Ultra won on map five.
- Toronto Ultra 3-2 Vancouver Surge – December 8, 2024
Toronto Ultra Form
Toronto Ultra are 6-2 this season, which is quite promising. However, they have not looked too great lately, with a 3-2 victory against Minnesota, 3-1 against LA Guerrillas, and a 1-3 loss against OpTic Texas, which is not too great.
Their record is a bit misleading too. They caught FaZe (3-1) when they were in bad shape, edged past the Surge (3-2) when Surge were struggling, and the remaining three victories came against Miami Heretics, Vegas Falcons, and LA Guerrillas M8, who are not exactly strong teams.
So, while Toronto Ultra are 6-2, they have not beaten any notable opponents. Their schedule is inflating how good the Ultra really are.

Vancouver Surge Form
Vancouver Surge have been very shaky for most of the season, but they looked much cleaner in the final week of the Major 1 qualifiers.
The Surge played a solid game against Carolina Royal Ravens (3-2), and they did not disappoint against the Minnesota RØKKR (3-2) either. While both games were decided on map five, round 11, the Surge showed great improvement.
Surge have become known for looking a bit iffy online, only to improve on LAN, which could happen this week.
Vancouver Surge Squad & Team News
No roster changes for the Surge.

Verdict
Vancouver Surge have looked much improved last week when they bested the RØKKR and Royal Ravens. While those results do not suggest that Surge are serious contenders to win the CDL 2025 Stage 1 Major title, they are improving.
Charlie "Hicksy" Hicks is still a bit iffy and could be the main candidate to get cut from the team if Surge decide to freshen up their roster. But besides Hicksy, Surge are playing well.
Toronto Ultra, unlike Vancouver Surge haven't had the best finish to the closed qualifiers, and they looked a bit questionable on respawns. Their S&D is still very good and could be the main reason they make it far at the Major; however, I need to see more from Toronto Ultra.
