The IEM Katowice 2025 playoff fixture would be an exciting one had Virtus.pro not lost their player, FL4MUS, who had to head home due to his visa expiring before the knockout stage began. In his place, Virtus.pro will field a substitute player, mir, who has not been active for months, thus severely harming their chances to cause an upset.

Team Spirit have looked a bit shaky at times throughout their IEM Katowice 2025 campaign, but as they are facing a weakened version of Virtus.pro, a win should not escape them.

Virtus.pro have exceeded all expectations with what they’ve shown so far in Katowice. The Russian outfit had a shaky start, having to fight though the lower bracket of the play-in stage to make it to the group stage.

However, in the tournament’s main stage, VP looked reborned as they picked up huge victories against G2 Esports and Eternal Fire, before they got stopped by Team Vitality (0-2), in Group A upper bracket final.

A massive improvement from Virtus.pro and a very promising sign of good things to come. However, they remain priced as massive underdogs for this series, which is mainly due to VP missing their player, FL4MUS, who will miss the playoffs due to visa issues.

After a strong start to the season, wining BLAST Bounty Spring 2025, Team Spirit had a bit bumpier road though IEM Katowice 2025. After beating Astralis (2-0) in the first round, Team Spirit got outmatched by Natus Vincere (1-2) in Group B upper bracket finals.

This was more of a testament to NaVi’s strength than anything else, however, Spirit did not look too dominant in their wins against Liquid (2-0) and GamerLegion (2-1) in the lower bracket, suggesting they might have slowed down a bit.

Two iffy results do not take away from what Team Spirit have shown this season and late in 2024, but they have looked vulnerable in games leading to this one.

Virtus.pro have looked good enough throughout their campaign in Katowice to believe they can derail Team Spirit. However, VP will enter this match without FL4MUS, which is a problem and a good enough reason to fade them.

Team Spirit ate not at 100% yet, but even in their current state, they should not struggle against the weakened Virtus.pro.
