- Match expected to be high scoring due to both teams' defensive frailties.

Girona vs Las Palmas
Following confirmation of their exit from the UEFA Champions League in midweek, Girona return to domestic action as they host Las Palmas in the Spanish La Liga on Monday night.
The visitors come into this one looking to widen the gap on the bottom three while the home team are eyeing a European place. The hosts often do well in front of their fans and should come out on top here.
Girona Form
Now that their Champions League debut has ended, the focus for Girona will be to improve their La Liga standing and possibly find their way back into European competition. They are just four points off the top six but have been poor lately, losing their last four matches across all competitions.
Girona were beaten 2-1 by Rayo Vallecano in their previous La Liga fixture before suffering a similar defeat to Arsenal in the Champions League in midweek. However, despite that defeat to the Gunners, Michel Sanchez's team are decent at home, winning three of their last five La Liga fixtures in front of their fans.
Defending appears to be a major problem for Girona, who have conceded in each of their last seven La Liga home matches. However, they have also scored in five matches in that run while six of those fixtures have produced over 2.5 goals.
Las Palmas Form
Las Palmas are also in the middle of a rough patch and are winless in their last four matches across all competitions. They have been beaten three times in that run but will travel to Girona off the back of a 1-1 home draw with Osasuna.
That poor run means Las Palmas are now slowly being dragged back into the danger zone and are just three points above the bottom three. They have lost their last two away matches in all competitions but recently won 2-1 at Barcelona and will be keen to replicate that performance on Monday.
Las Palmas have no problems getting goals and have scored in each of their last four La Liga matches. However Diego Martinez's team are without a clean sheet in nine of their 10 La Liga away matches, while six of the last eight fixtures have produced over 2.5 goals.
Head to Head
Las Palmas picked up a 1-0 home win in the reverse fixture back in October. However, Girona had been unbeaten in the previous 10 meetings, claiming seven wins in that run, including a 1-0 victory in the last home fixture.
Verdict
Both teams have not been at their best lately but Girona have done some good work at home this season and will be feeling confident. The hosts also have a fine record against Las Palmas and should see out the win here.
Neither defence has looked solid lately and both teams could be set to score in Monday’s match which is expected to produce over 2.5 goals.
