Inter Milan vs Feyenoord Tips & Preview - Nerazzurri to complete the double over hapless visitors

Inter Milan vs Feyenoord
Inter Milan are in the driving seat as they welcome Feyenoord to San Siro for their UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg.
Having lost at home in the first meeting, the Dutch side face an uphill task in Italy but their recent form does not inspire much confidence. The Nerazzurri, on the other hand, continue to improve, and given their defensive record in Europe, should earn a comfortable home win.
Inter Milan Form
It was a comfortable outing for Inter Milan in the first leg in Rotterdam as they were mostly untroubled. Goals in each half from Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez earned them a 2-0 victory and a solid advantage heading into the second leg.
That result maintains Inter Milan’s solid defensive record in the Champions League having only conceded one goal so far. Eight clean sheets from nine matches in Europe is an impressive feat and Simone Inzaghi’s team have picked up six wins in that run.
Inter Milan often do their best work at the San Siro and have won their last six home matches across all competitions. They also tend to show their attacking quality in front of their fans, scoring two or more goals in nine of their last 10 home matches in front of their fans, beating Monza 3-2 last weekend with a much changed side.
Feyenoord Form
Feyenoord had their moments in the first leg but struggled to get past the best defence in the Champions League. Manager Robin van Persie will be looking at areas to improve upon but the result is consistent with their recent form as they are winless in four of the last five matches across all competitions.
Things are much worse on the road for Feyenoord, who are winless in their last six away matches across all competitions. Among their results in that run is a 6-1 thrashing at Lille during the league phase of the Champions League.
Another issue for Feyenoord is a lack of cutting edge in attack as seen in the first leg, and they have now failed to score in three of the last five matches across all competitions. The Dutch side have also failed to score in two of their last three away matches.
Head to Head
Last week's 2-0 victory means Inter Milan are now unbeaten in three matches against Feyenoord. Prior to this season, their last meeting was in the 2001-02 Europa League, with the Italians claiming a 2-0 away win before a 2-2 home draw in the second meeting.
Verdict
Inter Milan are building some momentum and approaching games with confidence. Their impressive defensive record has been one of the highlights of the Champions League this season and having already shut out Feyenoord in the first leg, should do it again at the San Siro.
Another win to nil is expected for Inter Milan and given their quality in attack, they are likely to score multiple goals, so a handicap could also be considered here.
