Millwall will take a break from their English Championship struggles as they welcome Dagenham & Redbridge to the Den for an FA Cup third round clash.
The hosts are hoping for some home comfort against their National League visitors, who have also looked off colour lately. The Lions have picked up some key wins in front of their fans and should have the edge on Monday.

Millwall come into this FA Cup third round clash in need of some positive distraction having looked out of sorts since December. They are winless in their last four matches, losing two and playing out as many draws, including a 2-2 scoreline at Sheffield Wednesday last time out in the Championship.
The Lions will be keen to start their resurgence with an FA Cup home clash against the National League side. However, they have found things difficult at the Den lately, with just one win from their last five home matches.
Looking further back at their results reveals four wins from their last eight home matches. Alex Neil’s team have kept clean sheets in all four wins, which includes results against high-fliers like Burnley and Leeds United.
Dagenham & Redbridge Form
Dagenham & Redbridge came through the qualifiers and early rounds to secure a place in Tuesday’s clash. They did some giant killing last time out, picking up a 2-1 win at League Two side AFC Wimbledon back in November.
Away from their FA Cup run,Dagenham & Redbridge lately are winless in five of their last seven matches across all competitions. They have been beaten four times in that run and were held 1-1 by Forest Green Rovers in their previous fixture.
One positive for Dagenham is that they have shown some flashes of quality on their travels, winning two of their last five away matches. However, Lewis Young’s team have also been beaten twice in that run, failing to score in both defeats.

The only two previous matches between Millwall and Dagenham & Redbridge was the FA Cup third round tie in 2012 that required a replay. The Lions were held to a 0-0 draw away from home before returning to the Den for a 5-0 victory in the replay.
Verdict
Over the years, the FA Cup has served as a welcome distraction for teams needing a spark and Millwall will be hoping for something similar. They do have something to build on, with some key home wins against a few Championship high-fliers.
