Real Sociedad host Villarreal in a Spanish La Liga fixture with both teams continuing their push for a European place.
The hosts have been solid at home lately while the visitors are not particularly convincing and are without a number of key players for this one. Sociedad are in confident mood at the moment and should pick up the win on Monday.

Real Sociedad will have their eyes on one of the European places as they sit just five points off the top six. They lost 2-0 at Celta Vigo in their previous La Liga fixture but swiftly returned to winning ways in the Copa del Rey with a 2-0 win over lower league side Ponferradina.
That victory over Ponferradina means Real Sociedad are now unbeaten in seven of their last eight matches across all competitions, claiming six wins in that run. Their recent form has been driven by a solid defence that has kept seven clean sheets in those eight fixtures.
Reale Arena is turning out to be a fortress for Real Sociedad, who have earned four wins and a draw from their last five home matches across all competitions. Once again their backline has stood firm as Imanol Alguacil’s team have kept clean sheets in all five matches.
Villarreal Form
Villarreal will head into Monday’s match off the back of a 5-2 victory at struggling Leganes last time out in La Liga. However, that was the first win in seven matches for Marcelino’s men who have not been at their best lately.
While the visitors will look to build on that result, their recent away form has not been encouraging, failing to win in three of their last four matches across all competitions. They had also failed to score in the previous two fixtures and that run includes a 2-0 Copa del Rey defeat to lower league side Pontevedra.
Villarreal are in need of a spark but will be without some key attackers on Monday. Top scorer Ayoze Perez is likely to miss out due to injury while Yeremy Pino is suspended for the trip to Reale Arena.

There have been three wins each in the last six matches between Real Sociedad and Villarreal. Both teams won the away leg of the tie last season, with Sociedad winning 3-0 in the first meeting before the visitors claimed a 3-1 victory at Reale Arena.

Villarreal are hoping to build some momentum but the absence of Pino and Perez, who are major attacking threats, will be a problem. Real Sociedad are looking confident at the moment and pick up the win on Monday.
