Sevilla will aim to continue their recent resurgence as Osasuna come visiting for a Monday night Spanish La Liga clash.

Osasuna are still a dangerous side but have lost their way a little in the last few games. With Sevilla especially solid at home, they should claim the upper hand over their visitors, who are also unconvincing on the road.

Sevilla Form

After struggling in the early stages of the season, Sevilla are beginning to show signs of improvement. They have won three of their last five matches across all competitions and are now up to 12th in the table, just four points behind seventh-placed Osasuna.

Sevilla will go into Monday’s clash off the back of a 1-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano in their last La Liga match. Djibril Sow’s effort midway through the first half proved the difference and they were able to hold on for the win.

That win over Rayo Vallecano is part of a string of solid home results for Sevilla, who seem to do their best work in front of their fans. Garcia Pimienta’s team have now won four of their last five La Liga matches on home soil.

Osasuna Form

Sitting seventh in the table, just three points off the top four, Osasuna can be pleased with their overall campaign so far. However, they appear to have lost their way a little and are winless in their last two matches.

It all started with a 4-0 hammering at champions Real Madrid and they followed that up with a 2-2 draw with Villarreal last time out. Manager Vicente Moreno will be particularly disappointed with that result as they threw away a two-goal halftime lead.

Although Osasuna’s overall campaign has been satisfactory, their away form has remained poor. They are winless in five of their last six La Liga matches on the road, with another 4-0 victory at Girona among their results away from home this season.

Head to Head

Sevilla have an better record overall but Osasuna have the upper hand in recent meetings with three wins from the last five matches. Last season, the fixtures between both clubs ended in draws with both teams playing out a 1-1 scoreline at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

There appears to be a momentum shift in the last few matches, with Sevilla showing improvement while Osasuna seem to be a little out of sorts. One thing they have in common is their ability to get goals which means both teams are expected to score here.

Sevilla are also impressive at home and with Osasuna often struggling on their travels, the hosts should come out on top here.
