Nongshim RedForce announced Kim "GIDEON" Min-seong as their newest jungler for the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2025 season.
GIDEON was announced as the newest member of Nongshim RedForce in late November when the Korean LoL esports team revealed that the 21-year-old would be joining their Challengers team.
However, the veteran has now been promoted to the main LCK lineup, where he will replace Lee "Sylvie" Seung-bok, who is returning to the academy lineup.
The abrupt swap of the junglers follows Nongshim RedForce's poor showing at KeSPA Cup 2025, where they crashed out in the second round with a loss against Hanwha Life Esports.
GIDEON is a proven player in the Asian League of Legends scene. He started his career in late 2019 with Griffin before spending two years competing under KT Rolster's banner.
At KT Rolster, GIDEON played for both the main and academy lineups; however, he failed to accomplish much, ending the three splits – LCK Spring 2021, LCK Summer 2021 and LCK Spring 2022 in seventh place.
Following a disappointing year with the Korean squad, GIDEON joined LoL Pro League (LPL) team Invictus Gaming, who were amid a major roster rebuild.
Unfortunately, GIDEON's trip to China did not result in any notable accomplishments, as Invictus Gaming ended LPL Spring 2023 in 11th place, with a 7-9 record. This ushered more roster changes and GIDEON's departure from the squad in May.
Last season, GIDEON joined OKSavingsBank BRION for the first half of the season but was replaced by Ko "Youngjae" Young-jae after finishing LCK Spring 2024 in last place with a 3-15 record.
After a streak of disappointing results across the LCK and LPL, the 21-year-old jungler now joins Nongshim RedForce, who, like his previous teams, have not found much success in recent years.
Nongshim RedForce placed eighth in both LCK 2024 Spring and Summer splits, with a combined record of 9-27, which ushered in some roster changes.
Besides acquiring GIDEON, NS RedForce also signed a new top laner, Hwang "Kingen" Seong-hoon and Son "Lehends" Si-woo, while keeping their mid laner Lee "Fisher" Jeong-tae and ADC Jung "Jiwoo" Ji-woo.
Nongshim RedForce will showcase their new roster at LCK Cup 2025, set to begin on Wednesday, January 15. GIDEON will debut on the opening day when Nongshim RedForce face off against DN Freecs.
