VALORANT Joins Esports World Cup
- The partnership sees the expansion of the Esports World Cup game list
- VALORANT, Teamfight Tactics, and League of Legends join EWC for the next three years
- In addition, a global commercial partnership was confirmed

Riot Games has announced a partnership with the Esports World Cup Foundation, the company behind the Esports World Cup. The deal sees VALORANT feature at the tournament in 2025, where Riot’s shooter will join League of Legends and Teamfight tactics.
The inaugural Esports World Cup was held in summer 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and it proved to be a success. Over the eight weeks, the event features numerous competitions across several esports titles, with organisations competing in games as a part of the Club Support Program.
The Esports World Cup had a prize pool of over $60,000,000 making it one of the most lucrative esports events of the year and it is set to return in 2025 - this time with an extended list of competitions.
In 2025 and for three more years, Riot Games will have an even bigger representation at the event, as their first-person shooter title, VALORANT joins Teamfight Tactics and League of Legends as Riot’s third title at the EWC.
In addition to the new tournament, the agreement between Riot Games and the Esports World Cup includes a global commercial partnership between the Esports World Cup Foundation, the TFT 2025 competitive circuit, LoL Esports, and the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT).
The new commercial partnership will begin with VCT Masters Bangkok on February 20, 2025, with EWC in-broadcast activations. It will also be available at LoL Esports and TFT Global LAN events.
“Riot Games has shaped the cultural impact of competitive gaming, transforming esports into a global entertainment force,” said Fabian Scheuermann, Chief Games Officer, Esports World Cup Foundation.
With League of Legends’ iconic World Championship – which continues to set new standards for immersive experiences, VALORANT’s cultural collaborations, and Teamfight Tactics’ community-driven events, Riot has pioneered an ecosystem far beyond competition.
While LoL and TFT were already featured at EWC 2024, VALORANT is the latest addition to the pool of games at the Esports World Cup, which now consists of 23 tournaments in 22 games.
With an extended list of tournaments, a bigger prize pool is expected, however, it has yet to be revealed by the tournament organisers.
EWC 2025 is set to begin sometime in July 2025 and conclude in August. Up to now, 21 games have already been confirmed, including:
