Atalanta welcome Roma to Gewiss Stadium for a Monday night Italian Serie A fixture with both teams still pushing for a place in the top five.

The interesting thing about Roma is that they are just as impressive at home as on their travels and are unbeaten in their last nine away matches. They have claimed six wins in the last seven fixtures in that run and picked up a 1-0 victory at Champions Inter Milan in their previous fixture on the road.

Roma have built their recent form on a solid defence that shut out Inter Milan's prolific attack and have kept clean sheets in the last six away matches. That defensive solidity has seen those six fixtures produce under 2.5 goals while two of the last three in that run have served up halftime draws.

Atalanta have the upper hand in this fixture and are unbeaten in seven of the last nine matches against Roma. The hosts have picked up five wins in that run, including a 2-0 away victory in the reverse fixture back in December

Atalanta may have a good record in this fixture but are facing a different Roma side on Monday. The capital club are on a 19 match unbeaten run and should earn a win or draw against the hosts, who are winless in eight of their last nine home fixtures.

Roma’s solid defence means they often play out low-scoring outcomes and with four of the last six matches against Atalanta producing under 2.5 goals, a repeat is expected here. Both teams have played out a number of halftime draws in recent weeks and having been level at the break in two of their last three meetings, could be set for a similar pattern.
