After crashing out of the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona will turn their attention to the Spanish La Liga title as they host bitter rivals Real Madrid in the fourth El Clasico of the season.
The Catalans have thwarted the visitors every step of the way this season and will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table. Los Blancos need a win to keep their title hopes alive but given their inconsistency in recent weeks, Barca are backed to win again.

Barcelona's treble dreams ended in midweek as they were beaten 7-6 on aggregate by Inter Milan in the Champions League semi-final. Having held out for a 3-3 home draw in the first leg, they suffered a 4-3 away defeat in the second meeting in Italy.
The Catalans will now shift their focus to the La Liga title race, with a domestic treble also on the cards having won the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa del Rey. Hansi Flick's team have won their last four matches in the league and picked up a 2-1 victory at Real Valladolid last time out.
Barcelona have been in a few high-scoring encounters lately, with five of their last seven matches across all competitions producing over 3.5 goals. They often strike the first blow in these matches and have opened the scoring in nine of their last 10 La Liga home matches, picking up eight wins in that run.
Real Madrid Form
April was a difficult month for Real Madrid, who crashed out of the Champions League and also lost to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final. Los Blancos are also coming into a period of uncertainty, with manager Carlo Ancelotti expected to leave in the summer while defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly agreed a deal with the club.
Real Madrid must put all of that behind them as they attempt to close the fourth-gap on the leaders and have won their last four La Liga matches, including a 3-2 victory last time out. However, they have been a bit inconsistent on their travels, with three wins and two defeats from their last six away matches in the league.
Injury problems in defence have hampered Real Madrid lately and they are without Antonio Rudiger, Ferlan Mendy, Eder Militao, David Alaba and Dani Carvajal for this one. They do have plenty of quality going forward and all of this means their last two matches have produced over 3.5 goals.
Head to Head
It has all been one-sided in the El Clasico this season, with Barcelona getting the better of Real Madrid at every turn. The Catalans claimed a 4-0 away victory in the reverse fixture, before a 5-2 win in the Spanish Super Cup and a 3-2 triumph in the Copa del Rey.
Verdict
Real Madrid are desperate to close the gap at the top but are unconvincing lately and have injury worries at the moment. Barcelona have been better this season and having won eight of their last 10 La Liga home matches, should have the upper hand here.
