Borussia Dortmund vs Barcelona

Borussia Dortmund will attempt to overturn a four-goal deficit when they host Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg.

The Germans will be looking to get a boost on home soil but have been erratic in front of their fans lately. Meanwhile, the Spaniards have been impressive on their travels and having already won at the Signal Iduna Park during the league phase, will be confident of getting another victory here.

It was a one-sided affair in the first leg as Borussia Dortmund were completely outclassed by a rampant Barcelona side. They offered little threat going forward and were constantly being carved open at the back, eventually falling to a 4-0 defeat.

That result highlights Borussia Dortmund's erratic showings in recent weeks having picked up three wins and suffered as many defeats in their last eight matches. Niko Kovac's team will head into Tuesday’s second leg off the back of a 2-2 Bundesliga draw at Bayern Munich last weekend, their fourth straight fixture to produce over 3.5 goals.

Borussia Dortmund's slim Champions League hopes now comes down to what they can deliver at the Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday. However, their recent home form does not inspire much confidence, with just three wins from their last 11 matches across all competitions in front of their fans.

Barcelona Form

Barcelona remain on course for the treble as they currently sit top of the Spanish La Liga and are also in the final of the Copa Del Rey. Hansi Flick’s team also have one foot in the semi-final of the Champions League after claiming a 4-0 home win in the first leg.

It has been a superb campaign for Barcelona so far and they seem to be getting better as the season progresses. The Catalans are yet to be beaten in 2025, a run stretching to 24 matches across all competitions, and will travel to Germany off the back of a 1-0 victory at Leganes last weekend, extending their winning run on the road to eight matches.

Barcelona like to make fast starts and have opened the scoring in six of their last seven away matches across all competitions. They have also been involved in several high-scoring outcomes in the Champions League with five of their last six matches producing over 3.5 goals.

Barcelona have never lost to Borussia Dortmund, with three wins and a draw from four previous matches. The Spaniards have already won in Germany this season, claiming a 3-2 victory during the league phase before last weekend 4-0 first leg triumph
