Fiorentina vs Real Betis

Fiorentina are aiming to overturn a 2-1 deficit when they host Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League semi-final second leg.

The Italians will be counting on their solid home form, although the visitors have done some good work on their recent travels. While it remains unclear who goes through to the final, both teams are likely to serve up an open contest like they did in the first leg.

Fiorentina Form

Fiorentina were second best in the first leg as they fell two goals down before Luca Ranieri gave them a lifeline midway through the second half. They followed up that result with a 1-0 defeat to Roma in a Serie A fixture last weekend.

The good news is that Fiorentina were on the road in both fixtures and return home where they are unbeaten in the last seven matches across all competitions. Rafaelle Palladino's team are also unbeaten at home in the Conference League, playing out a 2-2 draw with Celje in their previous fixture at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Fiorentina are solid in attack and will look to Moise Kean to provide the spark having scored in the last two home fixtures in the Conference League. However, they have failed to keep a clean sheet in the last six matches in the competition, with five of those fixtures producing over 2.5 goals.

Real Betis Form

Real Betis were full value for the first leg win as goals from Abdessamad Ezzalzouli and Antony gave them the advantage. However, manager Manuel Pellegrini would have wished for a bigger lead and would be disappointed with the second half goal conceded.

The Spaniards have been in good form lately and have won their last four matches across all competitions, including a La Liga 2-1 victory at Espanyol last Sunday. They have also done well on their travels in the Conference League and are unbeaten in their last four away matches, picking up three wins in that run.

With Isco and Antony forming a quick understanding, Real Betis have looked sharp going forward, scoring in their last 15 matches across all competitions. However, they have failed to keep a clean sheet in the last six fixtures in that run, five of which have produced over 2.5 goals.

Last week's 2-1 victory for Real Betis was their first competitive clash against Fiorentina. Prior to that clash, they had only met in two friendlies in 2014 and 2022, with both teams claiming one win each.

Fiorentina v Real Betis

A slim 2-1 lead for Real Betis means the tie remains open and Fiorentina will fancy their chances of turning things around in the second leg. While the tie could still go either way, another open contest is expected here.

With both teams scoring in the reverse fixture which produced over 2.5 goals, a similar pattern could be on the cards. Kean should be the focal point of the Fiorentina attack and having scored in the last two Conference League home matches, should find the net once again.
