Croatia vs England Preview & Tips

Croatia are aiming to bounce back from a 4-1 loss to Spain in their last game as they slipped down to third in Nations League Group 3.

England rallied from a 3-2 home defeat to Spain as they secured a 2-0 win over Czechia on the road.

England have won six of their last 10 against Croatia, with the latter winning three matches and one game ending as a draw.

Croatia began their Nations League campaign in bright enough style as they edged to a 2-1 win over a Czechia side that ware already proving they are the weakest nation in their group.

However, when push came to shove against a genuinely world class team, they were brushed aside in a 4-1 loss to Spain. Despite their loss, they can move up to second with a win over their opponents, while they could top the group with a victory, although this would need Czechia to do the improbable and beat Spain away from home.

Worrying for Croatia is their recent form against England. Four matches have come and gone without a win over their opponents, with their last three ending in defeat. Their last meeting came at the 2026 World Cup as England ran out 4-2 winners in the group-stage. While Croatia are a talented side, they will struggle against England.

England Form

Like Croatia, England have felt the wrath of Spain in their group as they slumped to a frustrating 3-2 loss in their opening home game.

They have since bounced back with a 2-0 win over Czechia, but defeat in their third game would see any good-feeling garnered from their recent win disappear. England are the favourites to win this match, although the nation have often made a habit out of making a supposed likely win far harder than it needs to be.

Anthony Gordon and Harry Kane have so far been England's go-to scorers, both netting against Spain and Czechia. Despite scoring in his last two for England, Gordon provides decent odds when it comes to finding the net at any point in the game, and I back him to score for the travelling side.
