Galatasaray vs Barcelona Preview & Tips

Galatasaray have one of the toughest jobs in European football at hand this week as they take on an in-form Barcelona in the Champions League.

Barcelona cruised to a 5-1 win over Feyenoord in their last European match as they made a big statement in their opener.

In their last 10 meetings, Barca have won six times, Galatasaray have one win and three games have ended as draws.

Galatasaray were beaten 3-1 by Sporting Lisbon in their opening Champions League game as the chance to begin their campaign with a win passed them by.

Since then, Galatasaray have won twice and lost once, while they have drawn in a friendly ahead of the end of the international break. While their last home game ended in a 3-1 win over Kasimpasa, the standard of opponent ramps up massively in midweek.

The home team have failed to win any of their last six against the Spanish side while they were beaten 2-1 when they last hosted Barca. The travelling team are in red-hot form in front of goal right now, and the home side will have a very tough time keeping them at bay.

Most sides would have hoped that the international break might halt Barca’s free-scoring form, but their 3-0 win over Getafe alludes to this not being the case. Across their last seven matches, the Spanish side have scored 32 times in a scintillating run.

Lamine Yamal continues to impress for Barca and managed to score in their opening match against Feyenoord. After his excellent international break with Spain, I am backing the young forward to lead Barca to a comfortable win.
