Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig Preview & Tips

Bayern Munich have had to share the points in their last two outings after drawing 2-2 with Augsburg in the Bundesliga and 3-3 with Viking in the Champions League.

RB Leipzig bounced back from a 2-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen with a stunning 6-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend.

Bayern have won six of their last 10 against Leipzig, with the latter winning twice and two games ending as draws.

Bayern Munich have found themselves two points short of Freiburg at the top of the Bundesliga after dropping points for the second time in five matches.

While 11 points from five games in an unbeaten start would be viewed as a good opening for most teams, Bayern will not consider themselves 'most teams'. Indeed, they will have been incredibly frustrated to have dropped points against Augsburg in the Bundesliga and Viking in the Champions League in the space of a few days.

Returning to winning ways is crucial as they look to ensure they do not fall further behind Freiburg and Borussia Dortmund at the summit. Harry Kane continues to terrorise defences having scored a brace in three of his last four for club and country, and while Bayern have struggled for wins this week, I back them to bounce back with a crucial triumph in this one.

RB Leipzig Form

RB Leipzig have been very inconsistent across the new season as each victory has been immediately followed by a defeat.

An inability to turn one win into two is a real problem for Leipzig, with both of their defeats this season coming on the road. A 3-1 loss to Werder Bremen was followed by a 2-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen. When Leipzig have been unable to play in front of their own fans, they have been poor.

More worrying still will be their four consecutive defeats to Bayern and six defeats in their last seven. Leipzig are one of the best of the rest in the Bundesliga, but they are not on the same level as Bayern. If the home side can hit top gear, this will not likely be much of a contest.
