Bournemouth vs Aston Villa Preview & Tips
Bournemouth are looking to make it five consecutive wins across competitions after they extended their winning run to four games following a statement 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Aston Villa also enjoyed a big win over a Manchester club as they ended Manchester City's perfect Premier League run in a 2-1 win.
- The Cherries have won their last four across competitions
- Four of the last six meetings between the sides have seen both clubs score
Head To Head
Across their last 10 meetings, Bournemouth have won three matches, Villa have secured four victories and three games have ended as draws.
Bournemouth Form
Bournemouth were superb against Manchester United at the weekend as they took all three points in a victory they fully deserved.
United did themselves few favours, but Bournemouth were still at their best as they kept a clean sheet and piled the pressure on their opponents with a massive win. This triumph followed on from their 3-0 hammering of AC Milan in the Europa League in midweek. All told, it has been a very good week for the Cherries.
In this one, I predict that the Cherries will have their work cut out for them against a Villa side in very good form. However, at home, Bournemouth have won their last three while their win over United at the weekend made it four successive wins.
While I predict that Bournemouth will see their run of four consecutive clean sheets brought to an end, I am backing them to extend their winning run to five matches.
Aston Villa Form
Aston Villa have been excellent of late after extending their unbeaten run to eight matches across competitions following their 2-1 win over Manchester City.
Nicolas Jackson came out on top in the battle of the strikers as his brace saw him outshine Erling Haaland, who could only score once. This triumph made it four successive wins across competitions, with Villa in sparkling form.
Now, they travel to take on a Bournemouth side that have also built their own impressive streak. Despite their excellent run, Villa are the slight underdogs in this one, showing how good the Cherries are right now. While I predict that they will score for the 11th consecutive game, I do not back them to win this one.
Verdict
I am backing both sides to score as Bournemouth come out on top in an entertaining clash.
