Besiktas vs Crystal Palace Preview & Tips

Besiktas are aiming to extend their European winning run to three matches this week after securing a pair of wins over Marseille and Hoffenheim.

Crystal Palace were not able to turn one European win into two last week as they were handed a 3-2 loss at the hands of Lyon.

This will be the first time the pair have met in a competitive football match.

Besiktas Form

Besiktas just about came out on top in their clash with Hoffenheim last week as they won a thrilling match in which all five goals were scored in the final 30 minutes of the game. While Besiktas did make things hard for themselves as they conceded in the 87th minute, they held on for a 3-2 win that made it consecutive European victories.

Prior to this, they had eased past Marseille in a dominant 4-1 win that once again saw the side score the majority of their goals in the second-half. Clearly, Besiktas have taken some time to get going in their European matches, but when they have clicked into gear they have been very tough to stop.

Against Palace, Besiktas will hope to make the most out of the poor run of their opponents. Indeed, Palace were hammered 5-0 by Brighton in their league game at the weekend. With Besiktas aiming for three consecutive wins in the Europa League, this is the perfect time for the home side to take on their floundering opponents.

Crystal Palace Form

Crystal Palace began their 2026/27 Europa League campaign in sparkling form as they brushed past Lech Poznan in a 4-0 win.

While Palace were the side to back according to the odds, it can often be a real challenge to break a travelling underdog down, especially in the opening match of their campaign. However, despite surging to a victory in their opener, they were given a reality check by Lyon, who secured a 3-2 win.

This loss was far from terminal for Palace, but they will want to try to ensure that they do not fall further behind the top teams.

Worrying for Palace will be that they were hammered by Brighton in their last outing. In a match in which they barely turned up on the field, Palace were blown away by their superior opponents in a 5-0 loss that saw the side fail to every really test Brighton. While I do not predict a similar drubbing in this one, I do foresee another defeat for the travelling side as they slump to a third consecutive loss in all competitions.
