Bournemouth vs AC Milan Preview & Tips

Bournemouth are aiming to build on their impressive 3-0 win over Sturm Graz in the last round as they made it consecutive wins in Europe.

AC Milan hammered Salzburg 4-0 in their last game as they bounced back from a poor 2-0 home loss to Benfica in the first round.

The pair have only met once before, with AC Milan securing a 2-1 friendly win back in 2016.

Bournemouth's start to their Europa League campaign has been the stuff of dreams for the Premier League outfit after storming to a pair of victories and fifth-place in the competition.

Their 3-0 win over Sturm Graz was impressive as they handled being big favourites by scoring three times and keeping a clean sheet, but it was their 2-1 win over Real Sociedad in Spain that will really have the opposition taking note. In that game, Bournemouth scored the first two goals and did not give up the lead in a match in which it would have been easy to crumble.

Now, they turn their attention to a game that the odds suggests they are slight favourites to win. AC Milan arrive looking to make a statement, but the Cherries seem to have found the knack for winning European matches, and I am backing them to surge to another statement win.

AC Milan began their European campaign with a chastening 2-0 home loss to Benfica that will have shown the Italian side that they can take nothing for granted in the competition.

They have since secured a 4-0 win over Salzburg, but this was a match they were fancied to do well in. Tougher games lie in wait for Milan, with their clash against the Cherries one such challenge.

Milan do arrive in good form having won three of their last four with the other game ending as a draw. However, they were left hugely frustrated by Benfica in their opening European game, and I predict that the same problems will arise this week as they lose in England.
