Inter Milan vs Como Preview & Tips

Inter Milan move into the second part of a tough week in Serie A as they battle to ensure that their 3-1 loss to AC Milan last week is not followed by a defeat to a Como side that is in the ascendancy.

Across their last 10 meetings, Inter have won nine times with one game ending as a draw.

Inter Milan were not good enough in their crunch match with AC Milan as they were outdone in a 3-1 loss that saw them beaten in Serie A for the first time.

Defeat has seen Inter slip down to second in the standings with 25 points. While they are three short of Lazio at the summit, they are only one point above Roma, with Como two points behind. If things go badly this weekend, Inter could find themselves in fourth, six points short of Lazio at the summit.

Fortunate for Inter is the fact they are perfect at home in the league after five consecutive wins in the competition. 17 goals scored and seven conceded comes alongside Inter winning nine of their last 10 against their opponent.

While their recent record against Como does not take into account how much stronger the away side have been in recent years, Inter will know they should win this one. The home side were not at their best against AC Milan last week, and while I do not back them to keep a clean sheet, I do back them to get back to winning ways.

Como Form

Como have been very impressive this season, with the side only tasting defeat in one of their opening 10 league games.

The 23 points they have secured means they currently sit in fourth in Serie A after an excellent start. With seven wins, two draws and a single defeat this term, Como are rubbing shoulders with the top sides in the league, while they are clear of the likes of Juventus and Napoli.

This weekend, Como have a major chance to prove that they are very much in the title equation. Their run of seven wins in 10 along with their stunning 9-1 Champions League win over Lens in midweek means they will be confident, but travelling to face Inter will be a massive challenge.

While I back Como to push Inter, I do not foresee a stunning victory for the travelling side.
