Arsenal vs Hull Preview & Tips
Arsenal are aiming to make it five consecutive wins in the Premier League as they take on a Hull City outfit that has not tasted victory since their battling 1-0 win over Coventry back in August.
- The Gunners have won eight of their nine in the league this season (L1)
- Arsenal have won their last three league games to nil
Head To Head
In their last 10 meetings, Arsenal have won eight matches while two games have ended as draws.
Arsenal Form
Arsenal returned to the summit of the Premier League last weekend as they secured a battling 1-0 win over Liverpool that extended their winning run to four matches in the league.
Their win over the Reds came alongside Manchester City's shock 1-0 loss to Brighton, meaning the Gunners are now three points clear at the top. Arsenal's ability to bounce back from their chastening 3-0 loss to Brighton in mid-September was immediately followed by a battling 2-1 win over Leeds, with wins to nil over Nottingham Forest, Everton and Liverpool following.
Leading the way heading into the latest international break would be another big statement from the Gunners, and I back them to ensure they top the table with a fifth consecutive win. Arsenal have kept clean sheets in their last three against Hull, and I back them to win to nil once again.
Hull Form
Hull began the season in excellent form after beating Manchester United and Coventry before taking a point from Aston Villa and Chelsea. With eight points coming from a possible 12, Hull were flying high.
However, a 2-1 loss to Newcastle has since seen their solid run make way for a less-than-stellar streak. Including their loss to the Magpies, Hull have been beaten in two of their last five, drawing the other three. Frustrating will be that good results against Manchester United, Chelsea and Aston Villa have come alongside City failing to beat sides such as Fulham and Ipswich.
Hull's trip to face Arsenal is poorly timed considering the international break that will follow, and I predict they will enter into this period on the back of eight league games without a win.
Verdict
I am backing Arsenal to beat Hull to nil as they continue to set the pace in the Premier League.
