Manchester City edged past Porto in a 2-0 win back in September to ensure they began their Champions League campaign with all three points.

Manchester City are looking to make a major statement in the Champions League as they take on the double reigning champions in midweek.

Heading into this match, City boast a 3-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield. This win stretched their winning run across competitions to eight games. While they have accounted for a number of good sides, they were not at their best against Liverpool as they struggled for control in the first-half. They did run away with a 3-0 win eventually, but this came after Liverpool had gone down to 10-men.

Despite this, City have continually managed to create chances for Erling Haaland, which he has often managed to take. The big striker has started the season in fine form, netting six times in the league and twice in the Champions League. While City have a huge challenge ahead of them, Haaland will fancy his chances of scoring against the reigning champions.

PSG have managed to arrest a worrying run of form that had seen the side fail to win any of their opening four matches across competitions.

Since their 6-1 win over Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League, PSG have beaten Brest, Marseille and Le Mans. While they have only kept one clean sheet across this winning run, they have taken maximum points in a better streak.

In their match against City, PSG will want to lay down a marker. A win on the road against the only perfect side in England's top league would underline the ambitions of the French club as they look to secure a third consecutive Champions League crown.

However, the margins between the two sides are very thin, with both fully capable of winning this match, meaning this one could go either way.
