AEK Athens vs Real Madrid Preview & Tips

AEK Athens were handed another comfortable defeat in their last match as they slumped to a 5-1 loss at the hands of Manchester City.

Real Madrid easily beat RB Leipzig in their last European game as they notched a 4-1 victory.

The pair have met four times before, with both sides winning once each and two games ending as draws.

AEK Athens arrive for their latest European match having to pick themselves up after a chastening 5-1 loss to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the third round of the tournament.

While a 1-0 win over LASK in their opener saw them start on the right foot, they were handed a tough 3-1 loss at the hands of Shakhtar Donetsk in their second game. This was immediately followed by a 5-1 defeat to City.

Positive is the fact AEK are perfect at home so far having beaten LASK. On the road, they have lost both games. However, taking on Real at home will not likely see their losing run brought to an end. The Spanish giants arrive looking to extend their perfect run after three games, and it is tough to see the home side getting anywhere near the points in this one.

Real Madrid Form

Real Madrid were able to secure a comfortable win over RB Leipzig in their last round as their 4-1 victory ensured that they kept pace with leaders PSG at the top of the standings.

Prior to their big win over Leipzig, they had been pushed hard by Inter Milan (2-1) and Roma (4-3). The two Serie A outfits had given the Spanish outfit real scares, but the quality in their side shone through as they ensured that they would maintain their spot as one of only five teams in the competition yet to lose.

Kylian Mbappe has continued to make a habit out of scoring on major European nights having netted in each game. He is my pick to score once again, but I do not see the travelling side keeping a clean sheet. Each of their three European matches have seen them have to pick the ball out of their own net, and I back them to win despite failing to keep a clean sheet.

I am backing Mbappe to make it four successive European matches in which he scores as Real beat their hosts despite conceding.
