Bayern Munich are hoping to land a real blow against Borussia Dortmund as the top two sides in the Bundesliga put their unbeaten starts on the line.

Bayern Munich have been impressive at the start of the new season with their opening seven matches seeing the side avoid defeat.

With 17 points in the bank, the reigning champions have won five times and drawn twice. Heading into this one, they have won their last two by hammering RB Leipzig 6-1 before easing past Freiburg in a 3-1 victory. At home, Bayern boast a perfect record after winning three times and returning an 18-2 aggregate score.

Against Dortmund, Bayern know they have a chance to underline their place at the summit, with victory sending them three points clear. Harry Kane has continued to score goals for club and country after netting in 10 of his last 12, and I predict that he will strike again as the home side secure the win.

Clean sheets have been something of a rarity for Bayern of late after conceding in their last five in all competitions. While I predict that Bayern will concede again, I do not back against them in this one.

Borussia Dortmund Form

Borussia Dortmund have a major opportunity to make a statement in the Bundesliga after matching Bayern all the way heading into their first clash of the season.

Five wins, two draws, no defeats and a 12-4 aggregate score across the season has seen the travelling side score 13 less than Bayern while conceding two less than the champions. The pair are very different when it comes to how they have been winning games, but both have proved effective so far.

The major worry for Dortmund in this one is the fact they have failed to beat their opponents since a 2-0 triumph back in early 2024. Since then, they have lost three times and drawn twice. Each of these games have seen both clubs score, and I predict this run of scoring in defeat will continue.
