Racing Santander vs Real Madrid Preview & Tips

Racing Santander finally brought a four-game losing run to an end as they edged to a 2-1 win over Espanyol in their last match.

Real Madrid found a way to end Barcelona's nine-game winning run in La Liga as they secured a 2-1 win over the reigning champions.

Racing Santander have struggled for consistency this season after winning three matches, drawing twice and losing five times.

With 11 points in the bank, the home side had started positively, but their recent run has seen them stutter. Three defeats to Barcelona (7-2), Celta Vigo (5-0) and Osasuna (2-0) have seen Santander struggle at the back, and they now face the second-highest scoring side in the league.

While Santander have generally found a way to score against their opponents having scored at least once in seven of their 10, they have also conceded consistently, having to pick the ball out of their own net 26 times. With this in mind, I am backing the home side to get on the scoresheet but to slump to a defeat.

Real Madrid Form

Real Madrid have built a three-game winning run in the league after defeating Villarreal 1-0, Sevilla 4-1 and Barcelona 2-1.

Their win over Barcelona was a hugely impressive triumph that saw Kylian Mbappe net twice in a game that could have gone either way. This victory was key as it not only saw Real move to within three points of the leaders, but it also saw Barcelona's perfect run brought to an end.

While their win over Barca was crucial, it is even more important for Real to follow up this huge win with another victory. Real have not been great at the back this season, conceding in eight of their 10 league matches, and while I back them to win, I do not see three points coming alongside a clean sheet.
