Inter Milan vs Fiorentina Preview & Tips

Inter Milan eased past Bologna in their last game as they notched a 3-1 win to keep hold of their place at the summit of the Serie A standings.

Fiorentina's tough start to the 2026/27 Serie A season continued last week as they were beaten 3-1 by Como on their own turf.

Head To Head

Inter have won six of their last 10 against their opponents, with Fiorentina winning twice and two games ending as draws.

Inter Milan Form

Inter Milan may be yet to taste defeat in Serie A this season, but they have been matched all the way by a Lazio outfit that have also won six times, drawn once and picked up 19 points.

To make the top even tighter, Roma and AC Milan are yet to lose, with the former winning five times and picking up 17 points, while Milan have won four times and notched 15 points. Inter know they cannot afford to take their foot off the accelerator if they are to keep hold of top spot.

Fortunately for the home side, they now take on statistically one of the worst teams in Serie A. Fiorentina have lost five of their opening seven, while Inter have won two of their last three against their opponent. While I predict that Inter will see both sides score for the fifth time in six league games, I do not see the leaders losing.

Fiorentina Form

Fiorentina would have hoped that their 4-2 win over Venezia and 1-1 draw with Napoli would be the start of better things for the side, but they have since slumped to a pair of defeats to see their poor start extended.

A 2-1 loss to struggling Genoa was quickly followed by a 3-1 home defeat to Como. A single win across their opening seven has come alongside one draw and five defeats meaning that Fiorentina sit in 18th in Serie A with just four points.

Across their last five outings, Fiorentina have managed to hit the back of the net each time. However, they have been outscored in three of these games, and I predict more of the same in this one as their torrid start goes on.

I am backing Inter to hand Fiorentina a sixth defeat in eight league games despite failing to keep a clean sheet.
