Cagliari continue to impress in Serie A after tasting a single defeat across their opening five matches.

Juventus can leapfrog their hosts with a win after a fairly good start to the new Serie A season.

Cagliari have surged up to fourth in Serie A after winning four of their opening five matches and losing just once to Inter Milan in late-August.

The home side return from the international break looking to extend a three-game winning run that has seen them defeat Lecce, Atalanta and Udinese. The 12 points they have secured this season means they arrive for their sixth game as one of the form sides in the competition.

Against Juventus, Cagliari boast a 1-0 win when they last took on their opponents. They also know that the travelling side lost their last away game, while they have failed to win two of their last three.

Cagliari provide long odds considering their impressive run and the fact they are the home side in this one. However, Juventus have proved a side that Cagliari have struggled to beat consistently, meaning I am instead backing the home outfit to take something from this one rather than backing them to win outright.

Juventus began the new season in perfect form as they notched a pair of wins and clean sheets over Frosinone and Parma.

However, a 1-1 draw with AC Milan was quickly followed by a 3-2 loss to Sassuolo. While they did bounce back with a 2-0 win over Atalanta, they find themselves two points behind their next opponents in fourth and three short of Roma at the summit.

Three wins in their last four against Cagliari is a decent record, but they did slump to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of their opponents in their last meeting. Having taken one of each result across their last three, I predict that Juventus will drop points in a frustrating result.
