Chelsea vs Manchester United Preview & Tips
Chelsea were handed a stunning 2-0 loss at the hands of Tottenham in their last match as they saw a two-game winning run in the league brought to an end.
Manchester United were humiliated by Bournemouth in their last league match as they were hammered 3-0 at Old Trafford.
- Manchester United are yet to win away from home in the league (D3, L1)
Head To Head
Across their last 10 meetings, Chelsea have won twice, United have won four times and four games have ended as draws.
Chelsea Form
Chelsea will feel that they missed a huge chance to gain ground on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League last weekend as they were beaten by a Tottenham side that had won one of their previous seven league games.
Completely outdone on the pitch, Chelsea slumped to a third defeat in eight matches as they were beaten by Tottenham. When Chelsea have been on-song, they have been very difficult to stop. However, when they are bad, they have been put away, as shown by their 3-0 loss to Brentford and their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham.
Midweek saw the Blues fail to bounce back as they were beaten by Liverpool on penalties in the EFL Cup. While Liverpool have been growing well in recent weeks, United are the exact opposite. They seem to be shrinking with each game that passes, and I predict that Chelsea will secure a statement win over their floundering opponents.
Manchester United Form
Manchester United have not been able to secure a single win since they beat Sabah in the Champions League back on September 10.
Since then, United have lost to Manchester City, Brighton, Atletico Madrid, Como and Bournemouth, while they have drawn with Fulham, Tottenham and Leeds. Their run of eight without a win has piled the pressure on United, with the side stumbling across competitions.
A single win in their opening eight has come alongside four draws and three defeats. On the road, United have failed to win, drawing three matches and losing once. Their inability to beat the opposition this season is a major worry, and while Chelsea have been inconsistent, I back them to find form against a travelling side that has been awful this term.
Verdict
I am backing Chelsea to hand United a fourth loss in nine league games as they bounce back from a tough week across competitions.
